The Keyword Density Checker is a free tool that counts how often each word and phrase appears in your text and shows its density as a percentage of total words. It analyzes single words (unigrams), two-word phrases (bigrams), and three-word phrases (trigrams), optionally ignoring common English stopwords, so you can see exactly which terms a page emphasizes. Everything runs locally in your browser — your text is never uploaded.

What is a good keyword density?
There is no magic number, but most SEO practitioners aim for a natural 0.5–2.5% for a primary keyword. Anything much higher can read as stuffing, so write for people first and use density as a sanity check.
How is keyword density calculated?
Density is the number of times a word or phrase appears divided by the total number of words in the text, expressed as a percentage. This tool counts unigrams, bigrams, and trigrams the same way.
What are stopwords and should I exclude them?
Stopwords are extremely common words like the, and, of, and to. Excluding them surfaces the meaningful terms a page is really about, which is usually what you want when checking topical focus.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. All tokenizing and counting happens locally in your browser with JavaScript. Your text never leaves your device and nothing is sent to a server.
