— What it does

The Password Generator is a free tool that builds strong, random passwords using your browser’s cryptographic random source. Choose the length and which character sets to include — lowercase, uppercase, numbers, and symbols — optionally skip ambiguous characters, generate several at once, and watch a live strength meter, all without anything leaving your device.

  • Uses the browser’s cryptographic random generator — never a weak Math.random source.
  • Adjustable length from 8 to 64 with lowercase, uppercase, number, and symbol toggles.
  • Exclude ambiguous characters and generate a batch with a live strength indicator.
  • Runs entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded and no password is stored.

How to use it

1

Set length and character sets

Drag the length slider and tick the character types you want — lowercase, uppercase, numbers, and symbols.

2

Tune the options

Optionally exclude ambiguous characters like l, 1, O, and 0, and choose how many passwords to generate.

3

Copy your password

Read the strength meter, press Regenerate for a new set, and copy the password you like to the clipboard.

Frequently asked

Is this password generator safe — does it send anything to a server?
Yes, it is safe. Every password is generated locally in your browser and nothing is uploaded, logged, or stored. Close the tab and the password is gone unless you save it yourself.
How are the passwords randomized?
They use the Web Crypto API’s cryptographically secure random generator, not a predictable Math.random source. That makes the output suitable for real account passwords and secrets.
What makes a strong password?
Length matters most: aim for 16 or more characters mixing lowercase, uppercase, numbers, and symbols. The strength meter on this page reflects both length and the number of character sets you include.
What does “exclude ambiguous characters” do?
It removes look-alike characters such as the letter l, the digit 1, the letter O, and the digit 0. This makes passwords easier to read or type by hand at a small cost to the character pool.
